Nuga, Adebola

Nuga, Adebola holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc Hons) degree and a Master of Science (M.Sc) degree in Sociology both from the University of Lagos Akoka with biases in Demography & Population studies, Research Studies, and Industrial Relations.

He had been involved in Development work for more than 16years. He has wide range of experiences on the issues of Health.

He served a Research officer in a A Macarthur Foundation of Chicago USA Funded (Fund for Leadership) project titled: “Socio-Cultural Determination of the Acceptability and Adoption of Contraception with special Reference to the use of Condom.” (1997 - 2000)

He has also been involved in many Research/Survey works both for International Development Partners and Local Organizations. Among those International Development Partners he had conducted surveys for include: Action Aid Nigeria, SAVI, PATHS2, ICAP, UNDP, USAID, WORLD BANK, while the Local organizations include: NACA, SFH, NIMR, LSACA etc.

Some of his Research Publication include: “Sexual Behaviour, HIV-Related Knowledge and Condom use by Intra-City Commercial Bus Drivers and Motor Park Attendants in Lagos, Nigeria.” --African Journal of Reproductive Health Vol. 9, No. 1 April 2005.

He is a member of the CSO network known as “Civil Society for HIV/AIDS in Nigeria” (CiSHAN)-Lagos of which he was the State Treasurer before becoming the Deputy State Coordinator for Lagos State for about 6years. He is presently the M&E officer of the Network.

He is also a member of other CSO Networks, namely, ACOMIN (Association of CSO and CBOs in Malaria, Immunization and Nutrition), Tubeculosis Network (TB-Network), Lagos State Civil Society Partnership (LACSOP).

He has organized and attended many training programmes, both at the organizational, and at the CSO-Network levels.

He currently coordinates an NGO known as Access To Development Initiative (ADI) focusing on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, HIV&AIDS, Malaria, TB, Youth Empowerment, Research, Community mobilization and Empowerment of which he is the Programme Director.

Bola Nuga is also a Pastor, in addition to his Development work activities.

He is a Steering Committee (SC) Member of the Lagos State Civil Society Partnership (LACSOP)-- A platform for major CSO Networks in Lagos State. He is married with children.
